This so sums me up today. I woke at 1:30am - at 3:30am I gave up trying to sleep and grabbed East of Eden. Finished it with tears streaming down my face at 5:30am and finally drifted back off to sleep.
8:00am wake up knowing that I'm going to be tired all day and wish that I dont have to crawl out of bed .. and well the hair ... its been bad for at least a month now. Desperately need to get to the hair dresser.
I'm intrigued with your new subjects? Loving the black against the ocre red. Such a talented lass!
It's long overdue a snipping (i.e. appointment with lawnmower) anyway but to make it worse I've just come home from 2 hours bouncing around a badminton court :-)

my new subjects - I'm calling this lot 'the language of the birds'...and starting to draw on canvas, but still with oil sticks, oil pastels and posca pen. Its a lot of fun, and not anywhere near as intense as all the self portraits I've done.
Big grin at the good hat days ... I have a couple of hats but they're both for cricket ... My old one doesn't get worn any more (it got left behind as part of a total kit change when I broke my nose) but it shows how powerful the sun is ...
The inside of my old hat is still very dark blue just like it came out of the shop, the outside is a very faded purple ... All cos of the sun !
