"The voice within is what I'm married to. All marriage is a metaphor for that marriage. My lover is the place inside me where an honest yes or no comes from. That's my true partner. Its always there. And to tell you yes when my integrity says no is to divorce that partner." (Byron Katie)

  1. Bah, poppycock I say to this!

Clearly Byron has not given a honest answer to his love asking about her hairdo not liking it a little bit.

'There is honesty and there is tact and where one ends and the other starts both become hollow and beget sorrow'
    -Mr Wulf.

See? Boundary states again! Thats where magic happens.

  2. oooh POPPYCOCK! I'm a big fan of poppycock ;) thank you Mr Wulf

what Byron KaTie is saying is that we are complete - we don't need anything from anyone outside of ourselves (well, there is no one and nothing outside of ourselves at the quantum level - right?).

so from that perspective she would never ask anyone if her hairdo was OK because she doesn't need approval...none of us NEED approval.. however much we love to have it. However much we have learnt to believe we need it.

She is somewhat of a taoist (married, in truth, to the world 'expert' translator of some sacred text or other) so I believe she's speaking of the relationship one has with 'the silent witness'... or in mythical/alchemical terms, the union of Psyche and Eros - Sulphur and Mercury - soul and spirit.

forget honesty and tact - become integrity! Honesty and tact are about stories and if you put those to the test you soon find that they cannot hold water.

watch those boundary states - yes magic happens on the threshold but Old Mother Bone Maker is one who takes a toll.
