a first...

I missed fiction friday because I couldn't squeeze the effort out to finish my story - and I blame the distraction of a visit from my sister (she lives interstate) and her daughter! Its great having them here and we always have lots to talk about and come up with great ideas for creative projects.

And so... fanfare... drum roll... I left the baby with my sister last night and went out for drinks with friends - for the first time in over a year!

Yay!

  1. Congrats on hitting the town for a few drinks and some important 'you' time, sans enfants! If we go a second time for a child I am going to be a lot less precious - I've learnt my lesson and been bitten badly by dogma.

Seeing my friend leaving their 8 month son at home with his Dad yesterday, and him happy to be with his Dad, made me realise I did none of us any favours by allowing Dylan to be utterly dependent on me.

Ching ching! They say that our first is the guinea pig in the play of parenthood.

I missed Fiction Friday also. I was finalising the last of our Expo stuff Friday night, which is normally mu glass of wine and writing wind down at the end of the week. I wanted to write from the perspective of my broken 'Trust Birth Mug' about being considered useless, until a new and important use is found. OH well - there's always next week.

    See in the cluster :)

  3. Dare I ask what a mojito is? I'm sure that I have seen something written about them lately - sounds lethally divine!!
